LEWISTOWN: FIND YOUR STREET.
Yesterday we talked about snow routes. Today, we want you to take a good look at this map, because knowing which route you live, work or regularly park on matters once the snow starts flying.
🔴 RED = Tier I Snow Routes
⚫ BLACK = Tier II Snow Routes
🔵 BLUE = Montana Department of Transportation Snow Routes

Tier I routes are critical routes that need to stay clear for emergency services and access. During a declared Snow Event, or when snow accumulation reaches four inches, no parking is allowed on Tier I routes.

Tier II routes follow odd/even parking from November 1 through May 1.
So before November gets here, zoom in. Find your street. Find the streets you regularly use. And maybe send this to the person who always says, “Wait…where am I supposed to park?”

Knowing ahead of time helps you avoid a scramble later, and helps our crews get Lewistown's streets cleared when the snow comes.

Lewistown, our crews are out responding.
Here’s what we need you to know right now.

Heavy snow is bringing down branches and trees across town, with reports of damage to roofs and vehicles and downed power lines.

The Lewistown Fire Department currently has two crews responding to downed lines, and Lewistown Police officers are patrolling to identify hazards, make sure they’re reported, and help keep residents safe.

We know it’s unsettling to see damage around your neighborhood. Our teams are actively working through this, and you can help by taking these precautions:
⚠️ Treat every downed power line as LIVE, even if it isn’t sparking. Stay well away, and keep children and pets away.
⚠️ Avoid trees with heavily snow-loaded branches and anything touching a power line, including fences, vehicles, and fallen limbs.
⚠️ Please don’t try to move downed lines or clear branches tangled in them.
⚠️ If you can, stay inside and limit travel so crews have room to work.

Call 911 for downed power lines or an immediate threat to someone’s safety.
Please don’t rely on a social media comment to report an emergency.

Thank you to our fire crews, police officers, and utility workers responding in these conditions, and to everyone giving them space and looking out for their neighbors.
