An excessive amount of rain has fallen on the range over the past couple of days and even with the forecast calling for sunny skies Friday, we have decided it is best to cancel the match

The Cops vs. Cowboys Match scheduled for Saturday Oct. 3 has been Cancelled. The range is standing in water and we have gotten only a couple shooters sign up. We will try again next year.

Grab some popcorn and a soda, or wings and b**r and sit back and get ready for a decent 45 minute laugh session as the Town of Cottonwood deals with a Beast from the past.

A group of Cowboys & Cowgirls from various parts of the US gets together about once a year for a day of filming scenes based on a script that is put together by the hard working Carolina Clint (aka Clint Johnson).

Just for perspective, the way this works is that the folks all meet at a designated place and for about 8 hours random scenes are shot using phones, small cameras and an occasional drone. Most of the time it is a single "take"..

The folks have a good time together and then go off their separate ways. In about 45 days, the seemingly random scenes get pieced together in some secrete dark laboratory at Clint's home in Ashe County. With the help of some talented friends, the final edit is complete and converted to a format that allows the "movie" to be premiered on the big screen at the Historic Parkwood Theater in West Jefferson, NC. When the move "premiers", the participants are just as amused as those that just came for a good laugh.

This could very well be the last short film that this group does as birthdays keep coming, faster and faster, heath challenges pop up, life happens, traveling becomes more difficult, and unfortunately a few leave this Earth before their time.

Check out the stages below.

Guns for Cops (any semi-auto Pistol) for the R***e we will be using Carbine R***es. Noah will have a R***r PC Carbine 9mm if you do not have one. The PC Carbine uses a G***k 9mm (Double Stack 15 round) magazine. What we will do is stage the R***e on the "Cop Stages" and you will load a G***k 9mm magazine and when ready to shoot the stage you will place the magazine in the R***e under the Timer Operators direction and will be charge after the BEEP.

Cowboys need to bring extra ammo and guns for the Cops to shoot. This is a FREE match with no entry fee...just bring some extra ammo.
