The Community Music Club is a non-profit organization composed of men and women who have a special interest in music. It is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the general membership. The Community Music Club was established in 1967 as a result of a merger of three separate music clubs: The Mozart Music Club, The Lenoir Music Club and the Musical Arts Club. The Club was founded to foster a
nd promote interest in the enjoyment of quality music in the community and to advance the cause of musical education for young people. Each spring the Music Club awards scholarships to young musicians to attend music camps. Since its inception, The Community Music Club has given more than $90,000 in scholarships. In addition, the club often presents fine musicians in recital where members and guests hear excellent music and enjoy the fellowship of like-minded people.
