Our speaker at today's weekly meeting was Jessica Silvey, Co-Founder and CEO of Care Package Inbound, where she helps lead the organization’s mission to provide dignity, comfort, and hope to youth entering foster care. She is also a full-time employee of CPI, dedicating her professional efforts entirely to advancing the organization’s work and impact.

Our Lenexa Rotary Charitable Foundation has donated money and our members have volunteered to buy and fill backpacks with quality clothing and personal hygiene products to be given to foster kids.

This week we met our delightful inbound Youth Exchange Student for the 2026-27 school year. Noemi Sammarco will be attending Shawnee Mission Northwest. She is from Monza Italy. Here Noemi is pictured with Club President Kevin Day.

At this week's meeting, we heard from Bill Severns, author of the book "Keepers of the Sandlot". Bill's book addresses the proper role of parents and coaches of kids participating in amateur sports. Our Sergeant-at-Arms, Fred Spears, introduced a new service project for our club - a member book drive to benefit the "Lead to Read KC" program whose representatives spoke our club a few weeks ago. www.lenexarotary.org

At today's weekly meeting, we heard from Chriz Dally, Executive Director of the Museum of Deaf History, Arts and Culture in Olathe. Her American Sign Language presentation was vocally interpreted by Tia Welch. Terrific! Club President Kevin Day is on the left.

Today, Lenexa Rotary Club donated another 75 books to the Rosehill Elementary library. So far, our club has donated 175 books to the Lenexa school, as well as a recent monetary grant. Go Rockets!

Yesterday's meeting speaker was Scott Oberkron, Executive Director of the Kansas City Automotive Museum, which is the only public auto museum in KC. The museum focuses on Kansas City's ties to the history of the automobile industry and celebrates the culture, artistry, industry, and innovation of the car.
