Our speaker at yesterday's noon meeting was Betsy Peterson, a detective with the Lenexa Police Department. Betsy heads a "Special Victims Unit" for the LPD, focusing on crimes against children, the elderly, and the disabled. Her talk focused on internet crime against children. Sadly, there is far too much of it in Lenexa and everywhere else.

Detective Peterson is pictured next to Club President Steve Adams.

At today's Lenexa Rotary Club meeting we were honored to hear from Lenexa Mayor Julie Sayers. Mayor Sayers shared highlights from her "State of the City" address, spotlighting some of the many positive developments in our wonderful city. New hotels and restaurants. Pothole-free streets. A new fire station coming to the old City Hall location. Thank you, Madam Mayor!
