🍂 Thank You for Joining Our Fall Migration Bird Walk! 🍂

What a beautiful morning for birding around Lemoyne! We had around 25 people join us for our Fall Migration Bird Walk on Saturday, and we want to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the morning with us!

A huge thank you to Andy Dapkins of The “Bird Guy” Tours for once again sharing his time, knowledge, and enthusiasm for birding with us! If you enjoyed the walk, be sure to check out his page to learn about his upcoming bird walks and other adventures!

The birds were singing like crazy just before the walk started, but apparently they decided to take the rest of the morning off once we arrived! We still had some fun sightings, including a Red-tailed Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Downy Woodpecker, and a flying V of geese overhead!

We also want to give a special shoutout to Lemoyne Bird Town Committee member and wildlife photographer Seandor Shenoy for generously allowing us to feature his beautiful bird photography on our event flyers!

Thanks again to everyone who joined us and helped make another Bird Town event a success. We love seeing our community come together to appreciate the birds and green spaces right here in Lemoyne!

This little Downy Woodpecker was working overtime to squeeze in a little more foraging before the sun went down!

Did you know? The Downy Woodpecker is the smallest woodpecker native to Pennsylvania! They're often confused with their larger look-alikes, Hairy Woodpeckers. One of the easiest ways to tell them apart is by their bills, Downy Woodpeckers have short, stubby bills, while Hairy Woodpeckers have much longer, more prominent ones. Both species can be found in Lemoyne year round.

🍁Our Fall Migration Bird Walk is THIS SATURDAY!🍁

The forecast is looking promising with sunshine and some chilly fall temperatures! So bundle up, grab your binoculars, and join us for a fun morning of birding around town!

We'll be joined by crowd favorite Andy Dapkins of The Bird Guy tours as we explore Negley, Schell, and Frazer Parks to see who's passing through Lemoyne on their journey south.
