We are proud to see our team showing up for the Nashville community this weekend in partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas!

From movement screens and physical therapy support to simply being present and serving others, events like Medical Mission at Home are a reminder that healthcare goes far beyond clinic walls.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and heart to help make a difference. We’re grateful to be part of a community committed to caring for others!

This month, we’re celebrating the birthday of Pillars with Purpose, and the mission that started it all!

Pillars with Purpose was created to make sure our impact goes beyond the walls of our clinics and into the communities we serve.

Everything we do is guided by our 7 pillars, which focus on supporting people through:
• Community outreach
• Access to care
• Education
• Service initiatives
• And more ways to give back where it’s needed most

This video shares how the idea came to life, and why it continues to grow today.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about the lives we’ll continue to impact.

This , we’re proud to honor the mission-driven spirit that fuels Upstream Pillars With Purpose. Every day, our teams show what it means to lead with compassion—supporting the people and communities who rely on us most.

Pillars is Upstream's associate driven charitable program provides a way for both associates and patients to give back lending support to one another, and to worthy causes at home and around the world. In 2025 alone, Pillars with Purpose has awarded 88 grants to nonprofits and associates through our hardship program, providing meaningful assistance during life’s toughest moments.

If you want to be part of an organization that invests in people—inside and outside the clinic—this is what our culture looks like in action.

Through Upstream's Pillars with Purpose, we’re proud to support organizations that strengthen the communities where we live, work and around the world.

Pillars with Purpose awarded a $2,000 grant to the The Collaboratory at Messiah University to help fund a mission trip to Zambia, where a multidisciplinary student-led team worked to bring accessible mobility to the Sikalongo community through an innovative wheelchair design. In addition to building the wheelchair with sustainable parts that could be sourced from the local area, they also helped the community with electrical and waterline repairs, teaching university students computer skills and sharing what their education looks like in the United States with large groups of younger students.

The Collaboratory empowers students to apply their skills in service to others—developing real-world solutions to global needs while gaining hands-on experience in engineering, healthcare, and beyond.

We’re honored to play a small part in their project to make a big difference.

This Veterans Day, we’re honored to support Mission Phoenix and other non-profits like them through Upstream Rehabilitation's Pillars With Purpose.

“Veterans are a special group of people, often overlooked despite all they’ve sacrificed for our country. Growing up in a military family and working with countless veterans as a PT, I’ve heard stories of post-traumatic stress. Supporting Mission Phoenix is my way of giving back, even in a small way.” — William Johnson PT, DPT, BenchMark Clinic Director

Mission Phoenix’s mission is “to identify and eradicate the stigma of combat‑related to post traumatic stress… to train veterans to rise out of the ashes of their trauma and pain through comprehensive programs, events and hands‑on training; to offer hope in the form of transformation coaching, career opportunities and focused conversation.”

As a profession, we celebrate PT Day of Service on October 12th… but at Upstream, servanthood is something we live out all year long, and this whole month we will honor this value.

From mentoring students to serving meals, volunteering makes us stronger—together.

Our Upstream family was all smiles as we geared up to volunteer at KC Pet Project!

KC Pet Project is doing amazing work to promote humane outcomes for pets in Kansas City, and we were honored to spend the day lending a hand cleaning canine kennels. A special thank you to Alexis for sharing how you all supported the mission!

Whether it’s helping animals, serving local families, or supporting youth programs, we’re proud to empower our team to give back in ways that matter to them.

Upstream’s Pillars With Purpose is proud to present a grant of $10,652.20 to Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania (VOPA), an organization doing incredible work to serve those who have served us.

VOPA’s mission is bold and deeply needed: to combat homelessness among veterans through housing and comprehensive support services. Their tiny homes village, set along the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA, provides more than just a roof—it offers dignity, community, and a path toward healing.

This grant will help VOPA continue creating a place of hope and renewal for veterans who deserve nothing less. We are humbled to support an organization that honors service with action and restores stability and purpose to the lives of those who’ve given so much for our country.

Thank you to our Upstream Associate, Lauren for your involvement and dedication to this incredible organization. Your support helped make this grant possible.
