Our Journey of Hope Lemont MISSION STATEMENT
As a faith-based cancer support group, it is our mission to offer hope to patients, survivors, families and all those affected by cancer.

We are a group Christian men & women in the community who have been touched by cancer. We are passionate in our desire to meet the needs of those affected by cancer any way that we can… whether it is physical, informational, or spiritual and emotional … all from a Christian perspective. We have witnessed and experienced the hope that faith gives us in difficult and desperate times. We feel called to bring that hope, and the strength & joy that comes with it, to cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, loved ones, etc. Our leadership team includes survivors of various types of cancers… brain, stomach, breast, prostate, throat. All have gone through training offered by The Cancer Treatment Centers of America. We are a cancer support group called “Our Journey Of Hope- Lemont.” We welcome anyone affected by cancer. Our monthly gatherings are topic-driven, and include guest speakers, group discussion, resources, and prayer. We are grateful to Fr. Brian and St. Alphonsus & St. Patrick Parish for sponsoring this much needed ministry, and Calvary Church for making it part of their small group ministries.

🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to come together, find support, and remind ourselves that no one has to navigate breast cancer alone.

Join us for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a two-part survivorship series designed for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer—whether you’re newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, or living beyond treatment.

We’ll cover topics including early menopause, long-term treatment side effects, s*x & intimacy, and self-care, while providing practical tools to help you feel more confident and empowered in your health journey.

Join Wellness House for a two-part Mindfulness & Meditation Series designed to help you feel more grounded, centered, and connected.

Each session combines gentle mindfulness exercises with guided meditation to support relaxation, mental clarity, and emotional balance. Whether you're completely new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, you'll find a welcoming space to pause and focus on your well-being.

Journeying Through Grief is a two-part series offering a supportive space to explore the loss, trauma and changes in identity that can accompany a cancer diagnosis, treatment and bereavement.

Through grief education, trauma-informed care and psychosocial support, participants will have an opportunity to better understand their experiences and find ways to navigate them with support.

This series welcomes patients, family members and caregivers, recognizing that grief and loss can affect everyone touched by cancer.

We are changing the frequency of its gatherings from monthly to quarterly beginning this month. It will continue to be on the 3rd Monday of the month. The other dates after September will be Jan. 18th, Mar. 15th, Jun. 21st, and Sep. 20th. We will hold and attend special events in-between the quarterly gatherings. This is a very friendly and supportive group... Come check us out!"

All kinds of suffering offered to Jesus has merit. Jesus said to St. Faustina, “My daughter… You shall accept all sufferings with love. Do not be afflicted if your heart often experiences repugnance and dislike for sacrifice. All its power rests in the will, and so these contrary feelings, far from lowering the value of the sacrifice in my eyes, will enhance it. Know that your body and soul will often be in the midst of fire. Although you will not feel my presence on some occasions, I will always be with you.
