OUR NEXT PORCH COLLECTION IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23

Brunswick Forest neighbors, we could really use your help this month.

Food donations to our local pantries have dropped, but the need in Brunswick County has not. Pantry shelves are getting low, and this is one of those times when a few extra items from each household can really add up.

We know groceries are expensive for everyone right now. But for some families in Brunswick County, the challenge is more than stretching a budget. It is simply not having enough food to get through the week. If you’re able to add one or two extra items to your cart, it will help.

DONATE FOOD
Pick up a few extra nonperishable items during your next grocery trip and leave them at your neighborhood coordinator’s porch by Friday morning, October 23.

GIVE MONETARILY
If shopping isn’t convenient, monetary donations are also welcome and help our local pantry partners purchase what they need most.

🛍️ BFA needs grocery bags!

We’re in need of sturdy grocery bags to help us package and distribute food to our clients. If you have extra bags at home, we’d be so grateful for your donation!

Drop them off at BFA during regular business hours. Every bag helps us get food from our shelves into the hands of our neighbors who need it. 💙

She was a daughter. Then one morning, everything changed.

She had lost her father the year before. Then, on an ordinary morning on the way to the gym, her mother suffered a brain injury — and everything changed again. Her mother moved in, and overnight she became not just a daughter, but a caregiver and a provider.

Navigating medical systems, household expenses, and her own grief — all at once. Food insecurity wasn't something she'd ever thought about before. It wasn't something she thought she'd ever have to think about.

And yet here she was, and here the pantry was — ready for exactly this. Sound familiar? It might be closer to home than you think.

For some of our Brunswick County neighbors, this is a daily reality. But together, we can make a difference!

Last month, Brunswick Forest donated an incredible 6,478 pounds of food and $2,235 in monetary contributions!

Let's keep that generosity going as we head into fall.

PORCH COLLECTION — Friday, August 28- A full backpack isn't enough.

Most people think hunger looks like empty shelves and bare cupboards.

But in Brunswick County, it looks like a child sitting in a classroom, staring at the board, unable to focus — because they haven't eaten since yesterday.

1 in 5 children in North Carolina faces food insecurity. That's not a statistic from somewhere else. That's children right here. Children heading back to school this month with new backpacks, fresh supplies, and empty stomachs.

A backpack full of pencils doesn't fix that. But we can.

This is what PORCH Brunswick Forest exists for. Every donation collected this Friday goes directly to local pantries making sure Brunswick County children and families don't go without.
Here's how to show up:

💳 Give directly — Your dollars give PORCH the flexibility to meet the most urgent needs of our local pantries.

One bag of groceries. A few dollars. Multiply that by an entire neighborhood and you've just changed something real for a child heading back to school.

They deserve to walk into that classroom ready to learn — not fighting hunger.
