Dear colleagues,

We would be very grateful if you could help us share the survey through your professional networks. Please feel free to circulate this email and the social media messages below with colleagues, partners, and relevant organization. We are conducting a global survey to better understand why stillbirth continues to be neglected and what is needed to make it a greater national and global health priority.

The findings will inform global recommendations to strengthen accountability, increase the visibility of stillbirth, and improve prevention, bereavement care, and support for affected families as part of a forthcoming Lancet Series on stillbirths.

We are keen to hear from healthcare providers, policymakers, researchers, programme implementers, advocates, donors, and parent representatives.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you very much for your support. We truly appreciate your help in making stillbirth more visible and ensuring that a broad range of perspectives are represented.

Please, please, please take the time to look up North Carolina House Bill 1232. I copied and pasted the below summary from website: lrs.sog.unc.edu/bill-summaries-lookup/H/1232/2025-2026%20Session/H1232. It’s important that we understand the consequences if this bill should pass.

My mother suffered a miscarriage in the 1950s. This was during the McCarthy era. She share a hospital room with another woman who had also miscarried. Policemen came and interrogated them in the hospital to find out if they did anything that would cause the miscarriages. Did they lift anything too heavy and other more personal questions. My mother was not arrested. She didn’t know what happened to the other woman.

Maybe I’m misinterpreting the language of this bill, but it appears to go even further. I think it says that anyone, not just law enforcement, has the right to kill a woman if that person believes the woman aborted a fetus. Is that how you interpret the language?
