🐾 Meet Mowgli! 🐾
Mowgli is proof that sometimes the best dogs are the ones who just need someone willing to give them a second chance. ❤️
This handsome guy is full of personality, goofy charm, and so much love to give. He’s looking for a family who will be patient with him, continue helping him build confidence, and appreciate all the little quirks that make Mowgli uniquely Mowgli.
He’s ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his story, with a family who will love him for good. 🏡❤️
Mowgli is still waiting for someone to say, “You’re my dog.” Could that be you? 🐾

The update we were really hoping for with Birdie.

Birdie had her orthopedic surgery consult today, and for now, we are not moving forward with surgery.

Her lack of pain and the range of motion she currently has are both really encouraging signs. The surgery we were preparing for would be irreversible and would involve removing a portion of her femoral head, so if there is a chance Birdie can live a happy, healthy, pain-free life without it, we want to give her that chance.

For the next 6–8 weeks, we’ll be watching her closely for any increase in pain or decrease in mobility. We’ll also be very slowly and intentionally adding movement back into her days so she can begin rebuilding strength without pushing her body too quickly.

There are still three fractures in that tiny body, and we still have a road ahead of us. But today’s appointment gave us something we weren’t necessarily expecting when we brought Birdie into rescue: the possibility that her body may be able to heal without major surgery.

For now, we monitor. We strengthen. We let her heal.

And Birdie gets to keep being Birdie.

Meet Squints! 🐾❤️
At just 16 weeks old, Squints has already been through more than most kittens. He came to us and just two days later ended up in the ICU after becoming seriously ill. Thankfully, this little fighter pulled through! ❤️‍🩹
Squints has some vascular damage to his eye, but it doesn’t bother him one bit. He’s playful, curious, and—most importantly—an absolute cuddle bug! 🥰
He has also experienced symptoms that may be consistent with feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), a common condition in cats that can cause occasional eye or respiratory symptoms. It isn’t contagious to people or dogs, and many cats with FHV live completely happy, normal lives.
After everything he’s been through, Squints is ready for a family who will love him exactly as he is. ❤️
This little guy may see the world a little differently, but he has just as much love to give. 🐾
