Porch Cat Project wants to address the recent KALB report regarding the new City of Leesville ordinance concerning feeding stray and feral cats.

FIRST & FOREMOST, Porch Cat Project does not simply show up on private property and DUMP food. When we care for a feral cat colony, we make every effort to ask permission from the business or property owner before feeding and caring for those cats.

Our goal has never been to create a nuisance or make a problem worse. Our goal is to reduce the feral cat population humanely and responsibly.

That means Trap, Neuter & Return (TNR) — trapping cats, getting them spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and returning them to their established territory when appropriate. TNR helps prevent more kittens from being born and allows colonies to be managed over time.

But we cannot do this alone. ❤️

TNR costs money. Veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, traps, food, medications and other supplies all add up.

If our community wants fewer feral cats, fewer unwanted litters and fewer cats entering already-overwhelmed shelters, we need to invest in solutions that actually address the population.

Porch Cat Project has been asked to help find a 30 day foster for these kittens. They have a guaranteed transport July 17th and just need a safe place to lay low until then. Please reach out if you want some playful cuddles for a few weeks!
