It is with a heavy heart we make this annoucement. We know some people have noticed our absence but we have been trying to process everything. Due to personal circumstances, Milo’s Mission will be closing its doors for an undetermined amount of time. We cannot properly operate with these circumstances and have always stood on family and mental health come first. We have been so thankful for all the support in this community. We truly could not have done it without you. In the span of 9 months, we successfully rescued and rehabilitated 158 dogs.

We are deeply thankful to Vernon Parish and surrounding communities for your unwavering support, donations, and words of encouragement. While we will close for an unforeseeable amount of time, please believe us when we say we will come back bigger and better. We have already starting working on a business plan for the future and cannot wait to share it with our biggest supporters, YOU.

For those on our waitlist, we suggest contacting the following:
* All Paws Welcome Here
* Blacklist Animal Rescue
* Beaux Rehabilitation and Rescue or
* Posting on local lost/found/rehoming pages for assistance.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for everything.

Today marked the most difficult decision we've ever had to make.

Florence was taken to the vet, where it was concluded that she was not truly living but merely surviving. Given her deafness, almost blindness, heart murmur/disease, and age, it was determined that the most compassionate choice for her was to let her go.

She had minimal control over her bladder, wandered aimlessly, trembled constantly, struggled to sleep through the night, and seemed visibly uncomfortable despite pain medication.

Florence was suffering.

Florence is now at peace.

Thank you to Dr. Hayes and his team at Hayes Veterinary Hospital for treating her with the utmost respect.

Another fantastic baby looking for a forever home!

Check out Paisley and how gentle she is taking treats from this child! She absolutely loves cuddling with her foster family (especially her best friend here).

Paisley is great with cats and other dogs too! How has she not been adopted yet??

Are you looking for an overly gentle puppy to play with your toddlers?

BLUE does fantastic with children! He is very gentle and loving. The toddlers in this photo were running around him and he was just laying there, watching! Anytime they cried, his ears perked up and he ran to their side. He’s such a sweet boy!

If you’re interested in adopting or learning how you can foster to adopt, please send us a message!

✨Florence Update✨

Florence is doing SO much better.

According to her bloodwork, she had an infection in her body. This most likely was due to an UTI. She was given antibiotics, pain medication, and some antidiarrheal medications.

She is up, walking around, and happy again! She loves to walk around the yard and cuddle with her foster family. She’s a sweet girl who will be ready for her forever home soon enough!

Paisley is a friendly and affectionate companion who enjoys spending time with people and cuddling. She's playful, loves toys, and is well-behaved on walks. She responds to basic commands like "sit" and "lay down." She's also comfortable being in a kennel.

Paisley does great around other dogs of all sizes, children, and cats.

If you’re interested in adopting her or learning about our foster-to-adopt program, please send us a message!

‼️URGENT‼️

Yesterday, our dear old lady Florence went to the vet for her groom. Due to her impaired hearing and eyesight, grooming scares her so she had to be lightly sedated.

She came out of her groom looking beautifully trimmed up and her hair out of her eyes.

Unfortunately, once she made it back to her foster home, Florence took a scary turn. She was showing signs of labored breathing, lethargy, very wobbly stumbly movement, and even worse, bloody stool.

It was determined that due to her symptoms and age, it was best that Flo return to the vet. Her condition slightly improved overnight but there are still come concerns.

As much as we hate to do this, we are asking for donations to help get Flo blood work she desperately needs.

We are dedicated to giving her the best care possibly but we need help from the community!

If you can donate $1, $5, $10, anything helps!
