Key Training Center Since 1966. Historically, expansion of Key Center programs and services was driven by a consistently increasing need within the local community.

Located in beautiful Citrus County, Florida – The Key Training Center, a private nonprofit Florida 501(c) (3) organization, is dedicated to serving adults with developmental disabilities. The Key Training Center was established in 1966 to unlock and open the door of opportunity for people with developmental disabilities and other developmental disabilities. Expansion also was driven by the agency’s fundamental belief that programs and services should be available to all developmentally disabled people who need them. Expansion, however, was possible because the Key Center enjoyed steadfast community support in Citrus County. As a community, Citrus County residents embraced, with compassion, our mentally challenged friends as full-citizen partners. The Key Center has been recognized as a leader and innovator in initiatives associated with improving the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and has grown to serve about 1,300 consumers since it began. Evolution of the Key Center as one of Florida’s largest and most efficient, not-for-profit, agencies serving the developmentally disabled.

Our Communications team works behind the scenes to share the Key’s story, promote our programs and events, connect with our community, recognize our clients and staff, and help keep everyone informed about the important work happening across our organization.

Through our website, social media, photography, news stories, advertising and community outreach, Communications helps show the impact the Key Training Center has on the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

🎃💀 LOCAL BUSINESSES — WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR SKELEBRATION! 💀🎃

Families and Friends Reaching for Abilities (FFRA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Citrus County.

FFRA is getting ready for its SKELEBRATION on October 24 at Lecanto Community Park on West Educational Path in Lecanto, and there are several ways local businesses and community members can get involved!

🚜 Help with Hay Rides!
We’re looking for a local business or community partner willing to pull a trailer for hay rides during the event. It’s a fun way to support FFRA while promoting your business to families attending SKELEBRATION.

🧸 Donate Stuffed Animals!
We’re also collecting gently used stuffed animals to help make the event extra special.

Your support helps FFRA continue creating opportunities, activities and connections for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities right here in Citrus County.
