We just love seeing this.

We just love seeing this.

Our participants are doing great this week so while Judge was busy, they were given the option to skip court or come have some pizza!

This unplanned lunch break turned into an opportunity for participants to:

👨‍💼 Get some legal questions answered by our Drug Court Defense Attorney one-on-one.

🤝 Build connections with fellow peer recovery coaches that they normally don’t work with!

📚 Hear some stories from the Coordinator about Recovery in Motion and the folks that donate and care about their success!

Sometimes the best conversations happen when you least expect it! And after all, who doesn’t love some pizza!? 🍕

Shout out to Arni’s for hosting!

A few months ago, we asked you about your views on substance use disorder and your support for recovery efforts:

🌟You largely believe people deserve opportunities for recovery and stability.
🌟Almost 50% of you believe that by addressing practical barriers, participants increase the likelihood of long-term recovery and success.
🌟Things like housing, basic needs, and employment support would make the biggest difference.

Good news is - we agree! People with substance use disorders do deserve opportunities for recovery and stability. And, we believe that by addressing those practical barriers, we can make a true difference. Keep following along and we'll show you how!

If you've never heard of drug courts, then start here.

Boone County's drug court is a tremendous asset to the community, but taxpayer dollars don't provide everything participants need to succeed.

That’s where Recovery in Motion comes in, covering the small, critical gaps that can make or break someone’s progress -- emergency car repair, a McDonald's gift card to reward someone for a great week, that small amount of money needed to secure stable, safe housing.

Many thanks for the donations!

🎨 Why we provide arts and crafts activities: These are used as incentives for participants in Boone County's Drug Court Program. Incentives like these are used to reward participants for positive actions and behaviors.

👷‍♀️ While we're not actively seeking work shoes, know these are always appreciated. Any barrier we can eliminate - such as access to critical work gear like this - helps participants stay on the right path.

Sometimes recovery looks like putting thoughts on paper, working through a tough day, or making sense of what's next.

Participants in Boone County’s problem-solving courts have been asking for journals, and for good reason. Writing has been shown to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and help people process difficult experiences. For someone doing the work of recovery, that matters.
