đ¨ Urgent Action Needed đ¨
Senator Mike Lee (UT) has proposed an amendment to a bill called the Wildfire Prevention Act that is currently being considered by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. This amendment would nullify the Roadless Rule, which currently protects nearly 45 million acres of national forest land from permanent road-building and certain extraction activities. Many of these roadless areas are home to iconic running trails and race events, and theyâre vital for clean water, clean air, and biodiversity.
The committee will be voting on the amendment tomorrow, June 10.
We need runners who live in any of the states highlighted on this map to call their senator whoâs a member of the committee today. Weâve made it simple for runners to easily call the right senator and ask them to vote no on the amendment.
