Like the rest of the world, we are deeply saddened by the passing of the irreplaceable Dolly Parton. While she gave us a lifetime of unforgettable music, her heart for philanthropy and children's literacy is what truly defined her humanitarian spirit!

We have gently used, pre-loved books originally distributed by the program available for sale to help keep her stories circulating to a new generation of readers! These books are also available with the storewide 25% off.

All profit from our store goes to the Le Mars Public Library to help with their yearly activities and programs. Something we think Dolly would have appreciated.

Come give new life to these amazing books!

📚 Second Chapter is looking for a few wonderful volunteers to help keep the pages turning! 📕

We are looking for people who can give just a few hours a month (or more if you wish) to sort and organize books, help customers, and simply be surrounded by some good stories.

📖 High School Students: Volunteer hours can count toward community service hours if you’re interested!

No fancy qualifications required. Just a willingness to help and, preferably, an appreciation for books! 😉

We are a used bookstore operated by Friends of the Le Mars Public Library volunteers. Proceeds from this store will directly benefit activities at the local public library. We sell used books and accept most donated books in good condition.
