Great day at Rotary this week as we honored 6 Students of the Month. Navy veteran, Calvin Kooiker, gave us a very interesting program about the ship he served on which was built by Cargill in Savage Minnesota.

We had a busy October honoring students of the month, volunteering for the backpack program, and having a wine tasting social where a portion of every bottle sold went to End Polio Now efforts.

It's been a busy couple of weeks and we need to play catch up with all we've been up to. First, two weeks ago we welcomed our new member Alex Loutsch to our club. Past District 5610 Governor and Le Mars Rotarian, John Schneider, spoke to us about Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.

We had a jam packed meeting last week. We welcomed a new member, Jennifer Scholten, we honored our first students of the month for the class of 2026, and Dr. Webner from Le Mars Community Schools shared the current plans for the new elementary school. We will not have a noon meeting this week but will have a social Thursday at Chris and Barb Becker's home at 5:30. We will move to the pickleball courts around 6:00 for a little demonstration on the game of pickleball.

Reminder that we will not have an in person meeting today. Next week Dr. Steve Webner will be joining us to share about the progress happening with the new elementary building. We are collecting items for the 1-113 CAV this month for our service project this month. Items can be brought to the Plymouth County Historical Museum or to our meeting next week.
