💙 Speak up.
Men are often encouraged to be self-reliant, stay strong, and push through challenges on their own. While resilience is important, those expectations can sometimes make it harder to talk about mental health struggles or ask for support.
Research shows that men are less likely than women to seek mental health treatment, even when experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, or thoughts of su***de. Men also account for the majority of su***de deaths in the United States.
This International Men's Health Week, let's challenge the stigma around mental health and remind the men in our lives that they don't have to carry everything alone. A simple check-in, honest conversation, or reaching out for help can make a meaningful difference.
