🥕🍎 Something NEW is rolling into our food pantries and we LOVE it! 💚
A huge THANK YOU to the City of Lawrence for providing Neighbors In Need with these fantastic new green, yellow and red bins as part of our work implementing the REACH grant! These bins help show the families we serve which food they should eat often – green, sometimes – yellow and occasionally – red. Isn’t it great to see so much green on our tables?🙌

These bins are helping us bring The SWAP (Supporting Wellness at Pantries) nutrition education to even more of our pantry locations. SWAP helps make it easier for neighbors to identify and choose nutritious foods while they shop—and these bright, sturdy bins are a great way to help families identify healthier options. 🥬🍅🧅

Goodbye, banana boxes…hello, green, yellow and red bins! 💚👏

Thanks again to the City of Lawrence for helping us create a more welcoming pantry experience and support healthy food choices for our neighbors!

September has been a month for raising awareness about food insecurity and diaper need in our communities. Through Hunger Action Month and National Diaper Need Awareness Week, we have recognized families whose budgets simply cannot stretch far enough to cover groceries, diapers, housing, child care, transportation, and other necessities.

We’ll conclude this month of awareness with our Friendraiser & Volunteer Appreciation TOMORROW, September 30, celebrating the 550+ volunteers who contributed 13,000 hours of service last year and raising funds to keep our work going. 💚

📅 Wednesday, September 30 | 6–8 PM
📍 Rapscallion Kitchen & Bar, Lawrence
🎟️ Admission is free!

It’s not too late to RSVP—or simply drop in!
