What a privilege it was to be invited to an open house by Writer Director Producer Ann Meredith from New York! 🎉

Several months back we had a great conversation about the Special Film, how it came about and how this has become Ann's mission to complete this project. As Special Film is a healing tool for survivors everywhere.

At the open house Ann discussed and read excerpts of her award-winning script from the acclaimed Social Impact Diverse and Inclusive Indie Feature Film Project titled SPECIAL. www.annpmeredith.com

We always get so many questions about the artwork in our building and the joy it brings to our clients! We want to give a huge thank you to Elizabeth Harvey Abrams for the beautiful prints that fill our walls and provide healing in our space. Elizabeth completed her clinical internship with La Piñon and continues to be apart of our mission today. 💙🎉

It's never too early to start the conversation! Prevention is always in session. 🎉

Pre-K-5th Grade: Talk about their bodies belonging to them and no one else! Help them to Identify safe adults they can trust. Begin to teach consent (yes means yes and EVERYTHING else means NO) and boundaries at home.

6th-12th grade: Talk about healthy relationships! ASK THEM THE QUESTIONS: What is healthy a relationship to you? What is unhealthy in relationships? Do you know what consent is? Do you know what to do when someone hurts you or someone you know? Who are safe adults you trust? We may think they don't want to talk about these topics, but they do! By doing this we are modeling healthy communication which makes these conversations easier in the future and also helps them to have these conversations with friends.
