Salvation is a gift of grace, but it should never leave us unchanged.

Following Jesus means allowing that gift to transform every part of our lives: how we think, how we speak, how we treat others, and how we care for those in need.

We don't work for our salvation. We allow God to work through us because of it.

“God takes us from where we are. And over the process of time, as we walk with him, he's changing us. His goal is to make us like who? Like Jesus, he's conforming us to the image of his own dear son. He's making us like Jesus.”
— Fr. Harry Mathis

🐾 A reflection from the Feast of St. Francis

St. Francis reminds us that following Jesus means learning to see the world differently.

He saw God’s creation not simply as something to use, but as something that points us toward the goodness of its Creator. His life calls us to look beyond ourselves—to practice mercy, to loosen our grip on worldly things, and to follow in the footprints of Jesus.

As we gathered to bless the animals entrusted to our care, we were reminded of the goodness and wonder of God’s creation—and of our calling to live as faithful stewards within it.

May we, like St. Francis, learn to see the world with gratitude and to follow Jesus more closely in all that we do.
