🌧️ On a freezing April moor in 1746, the old Highland world made its last stand. ⚔️

Culloden lasted less than an hour, yet it changed Scotland forever. The exhausted, outnumbered Jacobite army stood in driving sleet as government cannon tore through their ranks, then launched one final, desperate Highland charge into the smoke. By the time the guns fell silent, the cause of Bonnie Prince Charlie lay broken on Drumossie Moor, and with it a way of life that had endured in the glens for a thousand years.

What followed was even harder than the battle. The clan system was dismantled, tartan and pipes were banned, and the Highlands were emptied in the bitter years to come. Yet the memory of those who stood that day never faded, kept alive in song and story wherever Scots have settled.

Do you have ancestors who stood for the Jacobite cause? 💬 Tell their story below, tag someone who honours this history, and follow Clan and Crown to keep these memories alive. 🏴

The Tartan Army has gone and got HAGGIS legalised in America 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

Massachusetts is officially the first US state to welcome our national dish, banned across the States since 1971 over the sheep’s lung, after thousands of Scotland fans turned Boston into a home away from home for the World Cup.

It all kicked off with the “Make Haggis Legal Again” campaign from Simon Howie, and this morning Governor Maura Healey signed it off at the State House herself.

Simon Howie’s reaction: “We knew the Tartan Army would bring the noise, and Massachusetts listened. Hopefully other states - maybe even the federal government - take notice.”

After the beer shortages, the packed pubs, Fenway full of kilts and now an actual haggis breakthrough, Boston may be realising the Tartan Army are not just tourists.

No Haggis. No Party. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
