Happy !

Studies have found that up to 80% of children with autism never learn to ride a bike. At The Foundation Learning Center, we're helping change that
Through our school-based bike program, students with autism learn to ride in a safe, supportive environment while building confidence, independence, and lifelong skills.

Today, we celebrate every milestone, every achievement, and the joy that comes with riding a bike.

The Foundation Schools community was honored to welcome Prince George’s County Council leaders to The Foundation School as we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month and Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week!

Councilmember Krystal Oriadha from District 7, Eric Olson District 3, and from District 6 visited our Largo campus to recognize the incredible achievements of our students and staff members, presenting them with medals and a special proclamation.
Their support and commitment to student wellness, mental health awareness, and educational success mean so much to our school community.

Thank you for celebrating the resilience, growth, and accomplishments of our Foundation Schools family!

The students of The Foundation School of Montgomery County had a fantastic time getting out of the classroom and enjoying a day at the bowling alley and arcade!

This fun Friday was full of friendly bowling competition and exciting arcade games. Experiences in the community like this allow our hardworking students to relax, have fun, and make great memories together outside of school. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and laughter throughout the day.

Experiences like these help build friendships, confidence, and community.

Our high school students did an amazing job participating in this year’s Science Fair!

From creative experiments to learn about the spherification process to thoughtful research projects to understand how fat content affects color dye movement, the students worked hard to explore scientific questions, test their ideas, and present their findings with confidence. We are so proud of their curiosity, creativity, and dedication throughout the process.

Thank you to our staff for supporting our young scientists along the way. Great job to all of our participants for making this year’s Science Fair a success!

After 21 exciting days, our baby chicks have officially left the school and returned to their home farm!

We were thrilled to successfully hatch five healthy chicks, and the students loved being part of the entire process, from watching the eggs in the incubator to seeing the chicks hatch and grow. It was such a fun, hands-on learning experience that taught patience, responsibility, and a little bit of farm life along the way.

We will miss our fluffy little visitors, but we’re so happy they are settling back in at the farm! We can’t wait to all over again later this fall!

The lower school students would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Norman Blumenthal for helping sponsor this fun project!

At this year’s Career Fair, students at The Foundation School brought real-world skills to life through the game “Life.” From choosing careers and managing salaries to budgeting for housing, transportation, and unexpected expenses, students explored the importance of smart financial decisions and long-term planning. It was inspiring to see students think critically, collaborate, and learn valuable lessons about money management and future goals!

At The Foundation Schools, we’re still celebrating Children’s Mental Health Month by encouraging our students, families, and community to begin each week with positivity, confidence, and self-care.

Here are a few affirmations to help start the week strong.

A positive mindset can make a powerful difference in a child’s emotional wellness, confidence, and success. Let’s continue creating spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
