Our red H-E-B tote is officially overflowing with fresh snake plant and pothos cuttings ready for the dirt! Today is all about getting our hands in the soil and practicing hands-on propagation techniques right here in the classroom. While we are busy rooting these resilient houseplants to continue our campus beautification efforts, we are also teaming up to plant a fresh batch of seeds to be used in our culinary classes. It is the perfect opportunity to bring traditional soil gardening skills directly to our future chefs at Lyndon B.Johnson High School. Whether we are dividing rhizomes, taking stem cuttings, or starting culinary herbs from scratch, these cross-collaborative CTE projects teach patience, precise technique, and the ultimate reward of growing something from the ground up.

Did you know a simple plastic bottle creates the perfect humid microclimate for germinating seeds? 🌱 We are upcycling your empties into starter pots to grow a wide variety of new plants for our campus beautification projects. Students and staff, we need your help to grow! Drop off your empty water and soda bottles at Room E104 with Mr. Mendoza, or hand them directly to any Howling Harvest Gardening Club member. Every bottle is a future plant for LBJ. ♻️🌿🐺

We recently teamed up with our incredible Head Custodian, Mr. Arredondo, to add some beautiful new desert rose plants to our school grounds. 🌹✨

​A huge thank you to Mr. Arredondo for his guidance and to our hardworking club members for making our school a brighter place. We can't wait to watch these blooms grow!
