Our FFA officers went on a mission yesterday to collect trash from the Lake Casa Blanca among the other UISD FFA officers. Our motto states “Living To Serve” and that is exactly what they strive to do each and everyday.

Yesterday's FFA service day was a successs. Thank you to all the other FFA chapters that came together as one to better our community. 💙💛

Over the last 2 weeks our FFA Leadership Development (LDE) members have been competing and winning. In Poteet, Tx 2 of our 9th grade teams placed high and advanced to Area at the FFA Wintergarden district contest. Our Greenhand (9th) Public Relations team earned 1st place and our Greenhand (9th) grade Agriculture Skills Demo team earned 2nd place. We had a handful of other teams competing in various leadership and public speaking events. Most of our competitors placed in the top 5. Our 2023 LDE district season was an overall success.

As for Area, our 9th grade Agriculture Skills Demo team brought back our 1st ever Area Banner. Our United South FFA chapter has never had a Leadership Development (LDE team) that has placed at the Area level. They ended up placing 3rd in FFA Area X. They were only ONE place away from advancing to state. There's always next year, and we can't wait to get another opportunity to earn a state advancement. I also wanted to point out that this was our 1st all-female team representing Agriculture skills demo, and they did amazing!
