Thank you Moms Demand (GLAM) , The Village Lansing, P.R.A.Y, Voices of Color, Lansing Empowerment Network, Marcus DA Comedian , Brotherhood Against Drugs, Lansing Police Department, Lansing Nation Outside and our community for showing unity this past Saturday at the National Wear Orange.
We are asking all other organizations to PLEASE join us in the future to kill this disease we call gun violence . Together WE are making a difference!!!

The Everett High School Band is growing and preparing for festivals and competitions—but they’re short on instruments.

If you have a band instrument you no longer use, please consider donating it to help a student participate. Monetary donations are also welcome.

Your old instrument could become a student’s new opportunity.

El ecosistema emprendedor de Detroit volverá a reunirse este mes con una nueva edición del “Small Business Social Hour”, un espacio gratuito de conexión y colaboración dirigido a pequeños empresarios, emprendedores y líderes comunitarios del área metropolitana.

La iniciativa es organizada por la New Economy Initiative y City Institute, entidades que impulsan el crecimiento de los negocios locales y el fortalecimiento económico de los vecindarios de Detroit.
El encuentro se realizará el jueves 18 de junio de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en el Mama Imani Humphrey Banquet Hall, ubicado en el vecindario North End de Detroit.

Según los organizadores, la serie “Small Business Social Hour” busca crear oportunidades para que empresarios y fundadores conecten entre sí, compartan ideas y desarrollen nuevas alianzas comerciales. Cada edición destaca un vecindario diferente de la ciudad, promoviendo además negocios y organizaciones locales.

La programación principal se desarrollará entre las 5:00 p.m. y las 6:00 p.m. e incluirá actividades de networking y espacios estructurados de conversación para fomentar la colaboración entre asistentes.

Durante el evento también habrá comida preparada por negocios locales, incluyendo productos de la Detroit People’s Food Co-op, cooperativa comunitaria enfocada en alimentación saludable y acceso a productos frescos.

La actividad está dirigida a emprendedores, dueños de pequeñas empresas, fundadores de startups y personas que apoyan el ecosistema empresarial de Metro Detroit.

Los organizadores indicaron que la entrada es gratuita, pero el cupo es limitado, por lo que recomiendan realizar registro anticipado.
