September is Hunger Action Month, a time to shine a light on food insecurity and the ways communities can respond.
The latest data show that across the U.S., 48 million people experienced food insecurity. That means millions of individuals and families faced uncertainty about having enough food or being able to afford the nutritious food they need.
At Fisherman’s Mark, food support is about more than filling a bag. Through the Free MARKet, Mobile MARKet, Farm Stand, FLY lunches, and other programs, we work to make healthy food more accessible while meeting our neighbors with dignity, choice, and respect.
Because when people have reliable access to food, families are stronger, children are better supported, and communities are healthier.
Throughout Hunger Action Month, we’ll be sharing the numbers behind the need — and what our community is doing about them.
