Rocky Mountain Chapter member Aimee Ward was recently featured on Denver7 for SHARING her inspiring journey with scleroderma and participation in a promising clinical trial that could help transform the future of autoimmune disease treatment. Diagnosed with systemic sclerosis in 2022, Aimee chose to participate in an innovative CAR-T cell therapy study. Today, she is telling her story to raise awareness about scleroderma, highlight the importance of clinical research, and offer hope to others facing this challenging disease.

We are grateful to Aimee for courageously sharing her experience and helping shine a spotlight on the need for continued research, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.

Thank you to scleroderma advocates Cyndy Besselievre and Jill Seaman along with Executive Director of the National Scleroderma Foundation Rocky Mountain Chapter, Amy Valentine, for attending the (NORD) regional symposium last Friday, May 15, in Denver.

We are grateful to NORD for bringing together patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates who are all working toward the same goal: improving the lives of those affected by rare diseases. With more than 7,000 known rare diseases worldwide, every person’s journey is unique. Together, we continue to ensure that rare disease patients feel seen, heard, supported, and connected. 💙
