Larry Christenson was a star multi-sport athlete at Marysville High School (now Marysville-Pilchuck High School) who went on to be selected third overall in the 1972 MLB Draft and pitch 11 years for the Philadelphia Phillies. He remained very close to the Philadelphia Phillies in retirement attending many functions including many Spring Trainings. In 1972 he recorded a 0.28 ERA with 143 strikeouts in 72 innings, a .406 batting average, and four home runs.
