🎓 First Day of School Spotlight

For many students, starting college means stepping into something new. For Mariah, attending the University of Washington feels like a fresh start.

"I feel like it's a refresh, a restart, and just a whole different world coming to UW. I feel like I have a whole different type of responsibility as the oldest daughter. I genuinely love the classes and the people here."

This fall, she begins her journey at the University of Washington Seattle, majoring in Sociology and Communications.

🎓 First Day of School Spotlight

Starting college comes with new experiences, new challenges, and plenty of growth. For Palmer Scholar Tavaeh, the transition has been both exciting and eye-opening.

"College has been a big adjustment. Sometimes it feels like I’m an imposter surrounded by 'real' college kids, but then I remind myself that I used to pray to be in the position I am today, and I can’t let it go to waste because of a couple hard assignments."

Tavaeh's honesty reflects the resilience and determination that so many students carry with them as they pursue their goals. Even when challenges arise, she continues to push forward and embrace the opportunities ahead.
