Something wonderful is going on at the Redbud branch this summer. Lunch at the Library returns June 16th at noon, and all children 18 and under can receive a free meal. Not only that but take a look at this great project that will be going on to complement the lunches! Thank you Redbud staff for your energy and creativity. It makes the Redbud Library such a vibrant place!

Here we go! Summer Reading starts June 4th! Such a fun time of year to go to the different branches and see excited kids receiving their stickers and prizes at the checkout desk. And to know that they are experiencing reading for pleasure over the summer.🙂

And this year staff has come up with a fun new idea for children's prizes related to the current lanyard craze:
"Kids and Pre-K get a sticker for their reading log for every book or every 40 pages they read. For every 200 points they earn, up to 1,000 points, they can also choose between a pin for their lanyard or get to pick a small toy from the library treasure chest "

To help us close out One Book, One Coast, LA County Public Library is hosting an author talk with George Takei. George will sit down for an interview with LA County Library Director Dr. Skye Patrick and Cathy De Leon, Director of Long Beach Public Library. This event will take place on Sunday May 31st, 2026, from 2-4 pm PT. Our library branches will be closed but you can register to view the livestream on Zoom and YouTube from wherever you are!

Check out a copy at your nearest library branch while supplies last. Unlimited copies of the eBook will be available for checkout for FREE with your library card until the beginning of June.

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 27, we hold our monthly board meeting in the children's room of the Lakeport branch at 10am. All members and those interested in what we do are always welcome at our 4th Wednesday of the month meetings. Summer Reading starts SOON and we always sponsor it so we have that to talk about along with other items. Let's keep all Lake County kids reading this summer!

It's that week! "Clay Day" sounds like a blast.

This Saturday! Another fabulous StoryWalk and it should be a great weather day for the event. 🙂

Please join us on Saturday, May 9th, for our monthly StoryWalk, presented in partnership with the Lake County Library and Lake County Literacy Coalition!

For May, we’re featuring Millie and the Elevator Adventure, written by Grandma Dode and Nana Lo, followed by a fun craft activity. We’ll be set up from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Visitor's Center. Hope to see you next Saturday!
