Enjoy a self guided hike, nature scavenger hunt, nature games, or explore our displays of animal pelts, skulls, and view nature up close with our family friendly microscope. Volunteers, naturalists, and biologist extraordinaire, Harry Lyons, will be on hand to guide.

Free Event! May 15th Friday, 2026, 9 AM Clear Lake State Park Pavilion.

Join staff from Lake County Land Trust, County Department of Agriculture, and the Resource Conservation District as we dive into the world of aquatic plants and wetland w**ds of Clear Lake!

Aquatic and wetland plant specimens and examples will be presented to facilitate hands-on learning and education, especially to describe the important role of these communities in Clear Lake.

Lake County Ag Department will discuss the County’s w**d management program, past and present invasive w**ds of focus, and a brief overview of the invasive w**d rating system.

Parking: Free for W**d Tour attendees, inform the front kiosk staff you are here for the event. Meet at the pavilion across from the Visitor Center (First left turn off from the main road).

Please bring hats, sunscreen, lunch or a snack, drinking water, and your questions about plants and the lake. Please wear sturdy shoes that are free of seeds and mud.

This event is sponsored by the Lake County Department of Agriculture and the Lake County Resource Conservation District. No reservations are required. Please contact the Agriculture Department at (707) 263-0217 if you have any questions.

This Sunday at 10 AM !! Explore spring nature and write poetry with then Lake County Land Trust at Rodman Preserve!

Join us on Sunday May 3rd from 10 - 12:30 as the LCLT hosts the second "Poetry at the Preserve" event with 2026 Poet Laureates Roy Arthur Blodgett.

This small poetry workshop will include gentle trail walks with moments for reflection and end with snacks, drinks and a collective poem-making exercise. This is a great opportunity to put words to feelings while exploring the beautiful nature and wildness of the Rodman Nature Preserve in the spring time.

Heads up south County Lake County Land Trust and Callayomi Water District friends! During the week of February 9-13th, CalFire will be doing vegetation management and wildfire mitigation on Rabbit Hill around the water baskets and the surrounding hillslopes.
