📚 Free Reading & Writing Help Available!

The Lake County Library Adult Literacy Program offers free, one-on-one tutoring for anyone age 16 and older who would like help improving their reading, writing, or comprehension skills. Tutoring is personalized to each learner’s goals and interests.

Sessions are held weekly and can take place at library branches around the lake, virtually, or in public community spaces. Whether you want to build confidence, strengthen everyday reading skills, or work toward a personal goal, support is available — at no cost.

Less than 10% of adults who need literacy services are being reached.

In Lake County, 26% of adults read at a level 1 or below - the lowest level.

We need help from our community to reach more adults who need support in learning to read and write.

Join us on Saturday, September 12th, 11 am to 2 pm, at Clear Lake State Park for our September StoryWalk!

Our September book will be Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn.

Parking and event are free to attend. A craft activity will follow, and the Lake County Library Bookmobile will join us!

This is also a great opportunity for parents who need literacy support can learn more about free tutoring programs!
