Ten years ago, our community stood still.
Candles were lit. Flags flew at half-staff. Blood donation lines stretched for blocks. Complete strangers embraced one another. Across Central Florida and around the world, people came together to say the same thing: You are not alone.
Today, we remember the 49 lives stolen at Pulse, the survivors whose lives were forever changed, and the families and friends who continue to carry unimaginable loss.
Remembrance is more than looking back. It is choosing not to forget.
As time passes, headlines fade and public attention shifts. Support can grow quieter. Yet the need for compassion, advocacy, and unwavering solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community remains just as real.
As you watch this tribute, we invite you to pause in silence. Reflect on the names and faces before you. Honor their memory not only with your grief, but with your commitment to continue showing up for one another.
May we never forget the lives lost. And may we never let the love and unity that followed fade away. ๐๏ธ๐
