We are excited to see our Builders Club at Crystal Lake Middle School inspiring students to believe in themselves, lead by example, include others, and make a difference in their school and community!

Through Builders Club, these young leaders are learning that you don’t have to wait until you’re an adult to make an impact.

Small books, big dreams! 📚✨

We’re on a mission to put more books into the hands of our youngest neighbors here in Lakeland. As part of the Florida District Governor’s Project, Kiwanis of Lakeland is focusing on early literacy for children ages 0 to 5.

Starting a reading habit early opens up a world of imagination and opportunity, and we need your help to make it happen! We’re collecting new or gently used children’s books to help local families build their home libraries and foster a lifelong love for reading.

Want to help us reach our goal? Grab those board books and picture books your kids have outgrown and bring them by!

📍 Drop-off at our weekly meeting

Every book donated is a story shared and a future brightened. Thank you for always showing up for the kids in our community! 🙌🧡

💙 We painted our hearts out for Kiwanis One Day! 🎨

Saturday was Kiwanis One Day, an international day of service when Kiwanis clubs around the world roll up their sleeves to make a difference in their communities.

Our Kiwanis Club of Lakeland crew spent the morning at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County’s James J. Musso Unit, giving one of their classrooms a much-needed refresh!

Fresh paint on the walls. New desks assembled. A new chalkboard space near the Club Bucks store. And a clean, bright classroom ready for the kids to make their own!

Nothing fancy. Just good people, a few paintbrushes, some power tools, and a willingness to show up and get things done.

A special thank-you to Lana Swartzwelder for coordinating the project, and to Padraig and the Musso Club team for welcoming us into their space.

There’s something pretty special about knowing a few hours of your Saturday can make a space a little brighter for kids who deserve nothing less.

Busy people. Big hearts. Rolled-up sleeves.

That’s our Kiwanis family. 💙
