The Responsible Recyclers Association

The Responsible Recyclers Association We are an association of scrap metal recyclers, equipment suppliers, and recycling industry affiliates that strive to strengthen the recycling industry.

We are an association of scrap metal recyclers, equipment suppliers, service providers, and recycle industry affiliates that strive to strengthen the recycling industry through advocacy and education. Formed in 2011, as the Association of Environmentally Responsible Recyclers of Michigan, our association initially focused on issues related to torch cutting. Since then, the metal recycling industry

has faced numerous other challenges, and the organization's focus expanded, evolving into the Responsible Recyclers Association. As it works to preserve your right to recycle, the association has earned a reputation of being pro-active, solution-oriented, and progressive minded. In recent years the Responsible Recyclers Association has been working fervently with numerous state law makers to ensure that the industry's voice was heard and their interests protected. In 2014 the association was instrumental in curbing the overreaching and overbearing reach of the Scrap Metal Regulatory Reform Act/Public Act 99 of 2014. This new regulation is just the tip of the iceberg as it relates to reforms that the industry will go through over the coming years.
