Eid Mubarak from our School in a Bus programme! ✨🌙

In the days leading up to Eid Al-Adha, our students celebrated through a range of activities focusing on the journey of Hajj.

Children explored the steps and rituals of Hajj and the significance of the pilgrimage, as well as having fun playing games and drawing.

Even during times of conflict, children in Lebanon are finding moments of hope and celebration, helping them to feel a sense of normality and joy.

Despite the changing conditions on the ground in Lebanon, School in a Bus is continuing to show up, supporting children and families during these uncertainty times.

In Lebanon today, families are facing ongoing instability and displacement as a result of continued conflict. For many, this means loss of shelter, limited access to food, and children being cut off from safe, consistent education.

In these moments of crisis, our School in a Bus becomes more than a classroom. it becomes a lifeline, delivering both education and emergency relief directly to displaced communities.

Inside the School in a Bus, children receive more than lessons. They receive stability, routine, emotional support, and continuity in the middle of disruption. Families receive essential relief that helps them survive day to day.

In Yemen, many too many children are being forced out of education due to poverty.

For Hana, this was close to being her reality as well.

After her father suffered a stroke that resulted in him tragically passing away, her family was plunged into financial struggles.

Her mother was unable to work, so Hana and her three siblings had to rely on her uncles support. But it was barely enough to cover their basic needs, and there was little left for school supplies.

But now Hana’s and her siblings are able to continue their education with the support of READs Orphan Sponsorship Programme.

With their tuition, learning materials and uniforms covered, Hana feels her hope returning.

“I have a better chance of achieving my dream of becoming a teacher, and I hope to help my family in the future with the education I am receiving today.”

The support has extended beyond Hana, with her mother saying the support has eased financial burden and provided stability.

“This change gave us a sense of peace and the ability to plan for a better future.”

Eid is next week!

As you celebrate with your family and loved one, be sure to remember the children around the world who do not share in the same blessings.

For children living in poverty or in crisis zones, that joy and excitement of Eid is missing as the holiday brings reminders of how much they have to go without.
