We are proud to share that our Robotics Team was honored with the Community Service Award from the Orion Area Youth Association (OAYA)!

The team was recognized for its outreach efforts through local fairs, STEM nights, and events that inspire students of all ages to explore science, technology, engineering, and robotics. What a fantastic way to wrap up the season at our Robotics Team End-of-Year Picnic! Our student leads put together creative and hilarious paper plate awards for every student and mentor. Each class was recognized with a special award celebrating their contributions to the team. Our seniors also received heartfelt awards from our head mentor, recognizing the impact they’ve made on the program over the years.

We also celebrated students for outstanding service hours and sponsorship efforts that helped make this season possible.

To top it all off, our students and parents surprised the mentors with a Keurig to fuel all the late nights in the shop — such a thoughtful gift!

Congratulations to our Rookie All-Star, Zoe, Team Vision Award Winner, Charlie, and our season MVP, Ben A.! We’re proud of everything this team accomplished this season and grateful for the amazing students, mentors, and families who make it all possible. Go Dragons! Congratulations to Mr. M on being named Teacher of the Year for the State of Michigan! This honor is so well deserved. We are grateful to know and work alongside such an incredible educator as he helps coach our Unified Robotics Teams. We were fortunate enough to help celebrate him with some confetti from our T-shirt cannon, SPITFIRE! Go Dragons!

That’s a wrap on the official season! Our team can hold their heads high as we head back to Michigan—proud of everything accomplished and the way we showed up all season long. Thank you to our sponsors for supporting us along the way!

We are especially proud of our middle school team - 8th alliance captain and making history as the first middle school team from Lake Orion to reach the playoffs at the World Championship!

The work doesn’t stop here. Team 302 will continue making an impact through outreach in our community and mentoring our younger students as they step up and carry the torch.

Go Dragons!
