Since 1998, MTF has been providing immediate assistance during times of crisis to low-income children living in Lake County, Illinois.

Our goal is to provide hope, build confidence and make a positive difference in a young person's life.

Please meet Erik Retzer of RIGHT | PROPER!

Erik Retzer has spent more than two decades traveling the world in search of antiques, art, and objects that prove one thing he’s believed for a long time: Quality Never Gets Old™.
 A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he founded RIGHT | PROPER in 2018, bringing together heritage furniture, folk art, textiles, and wonderfully difficult-to-categorize things chosen for their craftsmanship, character, and story. 
Erik believes the most interesting art blooms from artless things, and that's what keeps him hunting every day. 
Based in Chicago, RIGHT | PROPER has been named one of America's best antiques resources by VERANDA Magazine and one of the country's best home stores by House Beautiful.

Please meet Sonia Boudreau of Sheridan Home!

After a career in finance and creating eight homes from coast to coast, Sonia learned that making a house feel like home has less to do with getting everything “finished” and more to do with making room for people to live, gather, and stay awhile.

That idea first became Sheridan Home Interiors, her interior design business. A few years later, she opened Sheridan Home, a furniture, décor, and design shop in downtown Lake Forest. Behind the yellow door, you’ll find pieces chosen for real homes: the chair everyone claims, the table that always has room for one more, and the little things that make a guest feel welcome.

“We’re not in sales. We’re in hospitality. Our job is to make you feel at home.”

For Sonia, the best compliment isn’t “What a beautiful room.” It’s “I don’t want to leave.”

Boots, gloves, snow pants, blankets, and scarves, we LOVE them all!! We do ask that any hats that are donated please be new for sanitary reasons. Winter is coming and there are so many families in need this year. Please join us in making a difference in their lives!

After over a decade as a magazine editor in the shelter and lifestyle space, including stints at O, The Oprah Magazine, Cottage Living, Southern Living, and most recently as the Home & Style Director at HGTV Magazine, Jennifer leveraged her editorial experience into an independent creative venture. She styles photo shoots for a wide range of brands – both editorial and commercial – and produces written content for design-focused clients. As a decorator for discerning homeowners, Jennifer is known for her friendly, detail-oriented approach, and her dedication to crafting spaces uniquely suited to each client’s needs and tastes.

Amy, a Chicagoland Interior Designer for over 25 years, opened a vintage boutique almost 3 years ago in Clarendon Hills that doubles as a workshop for art classes, educational classes and private events. Amy sells vintage furniture, accessories, clothing, jewelry & artwork…vintage and her own. Amy is very passionate about sustainability and loves incorporating vintage elements into homes & her customer’s wardrobe. Amy loves to think outside of the box, reuse, refinish and upcycle items to create spaces that are one of a kind and personal. Amy is very active on social media…highlighting her own home, latest projects, local events and spotlighting local artisans. She loves to work with fellow designers to help them source vintage items for their design projects. WGN featured Amy for her charity work and featured her shop, Curated by Amy Scott
