Our Story

The WuffStock Festival features: The Columbia County Doxie Derby Races The WuffStock 5K Fun Run/Walk ~ with or without your dog ~ This is a fun run not a Certified 5k course. Vendors, K9 Challenge and more! Join us for a fun filled day you and your family will absolutely enjoy! Hosted in beautiful Lake City, Florida at the conveniently located Darby Pavillion at Desoto Lake. Visit lots of Animal Rescue organizations and meet their adoptable pets, all waiting to find a forever home. Who knows, you may fall in love and find your next furry family member. There will be vendors, entertainment, races, contests and great food. Come to participate or just to watch, laugh and cheer! The Lake City WuffStock Festival has many exciting events for all sizes & breeds of dogs to enter. Admission is FREE! Some events have a small registration fee while others are free. Breeds of all sizes can participate in Races, Competitions, Costume contests, Who Traveled the Furthest to Attend, The Oldest Dog in the Crowd, Smooching Pooches and the Best Nose timed competition. Test your pooches skills with the weave poles and jumps! Compete in the K9 Team Challenge with your furry best friend to win trophies and prizes. The Dachshund Races are the highlight of the day! The long and the low can be very fast! These races feature puppies, adult and senior dachshunds. Our purebred Dachshund races are an official National Dachshund Circuit Race and the Champion will be invited to attend the National Races held in Ohio each fall. RACE DAY RULES All dogs must be checked in at the registration booth or they will not be acknowledged as registered and will not be allowed to participate. All owners of participating dogs must sign a Release of Liability form or their dog(s) will not be allowed to participate. Your dog’s name will be called a maximum of 2 times for his/her heat or event. If your dog does not show on the second call, he/she will forfeit the race and the registration fee. You may not throw balls to encourage your dog to run faster. You may bounce a ball or have another toy at the finish line to encourage him/her to run to you. You may not use food or dog treats Lights may only be used to accommodate a disability with either the handler or the dog. GENERAL EVENT RULES All dogs must be controlled at all times and on a leash except when racing. Children must be supervised around dogs at all times! For their own safety, do not allow children to approach dogs without owner permission. Pick up after your dog. Disposal cans and p**p bags will be available. All dogs IN ATTENDANCE must be current on all vaccines. Owners of participating dogs need to show veterinary vaccination records at check-in/onsite registration. We need to see your records, but do not require copies. The sale or advertisement of sale, of any animal is prohibited. This is a family-friendly event. Inappropriate language or behavior is not permitted. Rescue groups who have pre-approved applications may permit adoptive parents take possession of their new family member at the event. Alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted on the premises. No gambling on the races. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Any dog demonstrating aggressive behavior toward another dog or person will be asked to leave the event.
