Las Trampas School, Inc.

Las Trampas School, Inc. We support adults with developmental disabilities to discover their capabilities and lead full lives.

The mission of Las Trampas is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to discover their capabilities and to lead full lives in their homes, at work and in the community. To meet the needs of the very diverse and underserved IDD population, we offer three distinct programs in Contra Costa County including our Licensed Adult Day Program (ADP), Adult Residential Model (ARM), and Independent/Supported Living Services (ILS/SLS).

June 15th through June 21st is Learning Disabilities Week and we’re celebrating the strength, creativity, and resilience of the people we support at Las Trampas.

Learning disabilities affect how someone processes information, communicates, or navigates daily tasks; but they never limit a person’s potential.

At Las Trampas, we see every day how the right support, accessibility, and understanding can open doors to independence and confidence. Our staff, families, and community partners play a huge role in making that possible.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue building a world where every person with a learning disability is valued, included, and empowered.

Storytelling helps build community.

That is why we are so grateful for Diablo Magazine.

Through their support, Diablo has helped Las Trampas share our mission and shine a light on the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we serve.

We are honored to name Diablo Magazine our Media Partner of the Year.

Thank you, Barney Fonzi and team.

Please join us in celebrating Samantha Mills, our Self-Advocate of the Year.

Before Las Trampas, Sam heard “no” far too often.

At Las Trampas, she found a place where people said “yes.”

Today, Sam continues to grow as an artist and as a confident self-advocate. She shows us that advocacy does not always have to be spoken. It can be painted, chosen, expressed, and lived.

We are so proud of you, Sam.

Saturday, June 6th is National Trails Day!

We’re lucky to have a trail right next door and it offers ADA access from our property. It’s a smooth, welcoming path that makes it easier for everyone to enjoy the fresh air, views, and open space.

Here’s to celebrating the outdoors and the trails that bring our community together 🌄💚

Her leadership has made a lasting impact on our community.

Please join us in celebrating Alisa Rosillo, recipient of the Community Advocate of the Year Award.

Alisa does more than talk about inclusion. She helps make it real.

Through her advocacy for disabled parking protections, adult changing stations, accessible restrooms, and universal changing tables, Alisa has helped remove barriers for people with disabilities and their families.

We are grateful for her courage, persistence, and commitment to accessibility.
