Sustainable Lafayette will have a booth at the Lafayette Art and Wine Festival on September 19th & 20th!
Stop by our booth in La Fiesta Square and talk to some of our Board members and volunteers about what we're doing to inspire Lafayette to act and advocate for environmental health and justice! Learn about our LEAF (Lamorinda Environmental Action Fellowship) Awards that support environmental projects created by Lamorinda middle- and high school students; we expect that two of our awesome LEAF Award recipients will be spending part of each day at the booth so get to know Viviana and Adriana! Pick up an application! Check out the map for Safe Routes for Acalanes, which will create a bike and pedestrian median on Pleasant Hill Road to allow students to walk and/or bike safely to Acalanes. Trish has called Lafayette home for about three decades. Following a fulfilling 25-plus-year career in accounting with the Acalanes School District, she recently retired and shifted her focus to lifelong passions. Her love of gardening led her to the Lafayette Community Garden and Sustainable Lafayette, where she enjoys advocating for eco-friendly living. At home, she and her husband of 42 years strive to live sustainably by utilizing solar power, line-drying their clothes, and growing their own food. Her greatest joy is sharing this green lifestyle with her two daughters and two grandsons.

It is not every day that a company will donate their time and resources to the good of the biking community! Sharp Bicycle spent hours repairing bikes for free at the Lafayette Earth Day Festival!!!

The weather cooperated!
-People came for free bike repair from Sharp Bicycle.
-People came to talk about electric boats at EVEN Recharge.
-People learned how super efficient Renewal Anderson Windows and Doors are.
-People pet bunnies with Lamorinda 4-H.
-People got free honey at our booth!
-People got free compost buckets at Republic Services.
-People learned about gardening from Yarden and Lafayette Community Garden.
-People learned about the Facebook group, Buy Nothing.
-Mt. Diablo Beekeeping Association showed off an active bee hive!
-People learned about the Lafayette Creeks Committee.
-There was SO much! Thank you to ALL of the groups that made it happen!!!

This is a fantastic event for all! The Lafayette Community Garden is a magical place! The garden grows vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, and fruit. There is a labyrinth, Miwok village, hen house, carpentry area, compost area, children's area, and they host the Mt. Diablo Beekeepers Association! It is peaceful and beautiful! Come check it out!
