The Junior League of Lafayette’s SMILES Committee hosted a festive October gathering at Clayfish Bisque, where families and League Members came together to paint Halloween themed pottery. Everyone embraced the spirit of the season — arriving in fun Halloween attire and creating memories that will last well beyond October.

This gathering reflects our commitment to creating joyful, supportive experiences for families in our community. Thank you to all who took part and contributed to a meaningful experience.

2026–2027 Collaborative Opportunity Grant Recipient

On September 2, Junior League of Lafayette awarded $4,000 to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana for the Wee Acres Exhibit Transformation.
This project will refresh the existing Wee Acres exhibit and transform it into a calm, welcoming, and development-focused learning environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.

The updated space will remain hands-on and accessible while intentionally supporting developmental milestones through play.

We’re excited to support an environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow through meaningful play experiences, helping build a stronger foundation for the youngest members of our Acadiana community.

2026–2027 Collaborative Opportunity Grant Recipient

On September 2, Junior League of Lafayette awarded $3,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana for She Leads Lafayette: Girls Career & Leadership Tour.

This one-day career exploration and women’s leadership experience will give female littles in Lafayette Parish the opportunity to visit local businesses and connect with women leaders across Acadiana.

Through hands-on experiences and guided conversations, participants will explore career pathways while building confidence and learning about goal setting, education, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.

Junior League of Lafayette volunteers will partner with BBBS staff to help make this experience possible and introduce young girls to the many career and leadership opportunities available right here in our community.

We’re excited to invest in the next generation of Acadiana’s women leaders! ✨
