The University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers an elective that teaches the fundamentals and gives the student a rudimentary knowledge of classic and modern styles of ballroom dance. The class is taught by several different enthusiastic, very talented instructors at the university. These instructors provide a creative, inspiring atmosphere that is great for many that are unfamiliar with dancing. KNEA 141 DANCE, BALLROOM is for the student who has little or no experience in ballroom dance. Basic dance steps relating to cha cha, fox trot, waltz, rhumba, samba, jitterbug, tango, western. Emphasis on popular dances*. It is located in the Sports and Recreation building, Bourgeois Hall. Occasionally the instructor will invite performances by professionals and always welcome special guests.
