After a lot of thought, I've decided to postpone tomorrow's rally. Impending bad weather, plus the upcoming holidays, means turnout will be exceedingly low, I think, and this is too important an issue.

Unless Judge Odinet and her husband resign in the interim, my goal is to work with other local organizations to hold a rally in early January.

Please use this form to file a formal complaint against Judge Michelle Odinet. Based on what we now know about her character from the video that was released, she has no business presiding over one of our criminal courts. Racists have no place in our community, and certainly not in public service.

Progressives in Lafayette continue the fight to make our city better and more welcoming to all!

In a bid to move Lafayette's Mouton statue, lawyers for the city argued the local United Daughters of the Confederacy chapter doesn't legally exist.

Legislative Action Item on solar energy to pass on via Simon Mahan, who is a former resident of Lafayette and continues to advocate for green energy for Acadiana despite no longer being a resident.

Good afternoon,
I wrote a couple weeks ago about the threats of HCR 40, bill introduced in the Louisiana House of Representatives that would negatively affect LUS's solar purchases. After working with a number of people in Baton Rouge to fix the bill, the Speaker of the House did not honor his agreements with us to fix the bill and he passed the bill without any changes - which is bad news for Lafayette.
Please contact the Louisiana Senate Commerce Committee and encourage them to vote against HCR 40.

Subject: Vote Against HCR40

Hello,
I am concerned that HCR40 will increase taxes on municipalities, like Lafayette, that would like to buy solar energy. HCR40 would unfairly hurt solar power projects and communities that wish to buy solar by eliminating state incentives that are available to all other types of power plants. Please vote against the bill. Thank you for your consideration.
