From Chata President, Jann Ward

As a life long tennis player and fan, I was presented with a special opportunity this past week. As you know, Chata and McCluskey have grown Troup County tennis significantly over the past 20+ years. Tennis participation in the USA has reached 27.3 million, and in 2026, I received the USTA President’s Impact Award for contributions toward achieving this goal. As Chata President, my name appears on this award, but it is actually for every one at McCluskey and Chata who helps build our programs. Your participation matters and is noted. Thank you all for helping Chata add to the goal of 35 million by 2035.

USTA honored programs with qualifying growth with an invitation to The USTA President’s Suite.

For an old tennis gal, it was a magical night.

Now, let’s get back to work and help USTA reach 35 million.

Congratulations to local tennis players Alejandro Sainz and Manny Bustamente, who participated in the multi-sports event...

Congratulations to local tennis players Alejandro Sainz and Manny Bustamente, who participated in the multi-sports events of the National Congress of State Games (NCSG).

First, Alejandro Sainz played at the Alabama State Games, and won Gold Medal in Tennis Men's Singles and Silver Medal in Men's Doubles. Currently, Alejandro has won 5 Singles titles this year, sitting at #12 in the NTRP National Ranking.

Alejandro's achievement was impressive to see, because he was in double duty.
He even had to deal with a bursted blood vessel in his hand during the Singles Semifinals and Final.

Later, Manuel Bustamante qualified to the State Games of America, Pennsylvania 2026, and won Gold Medal in Tennis Men's Singles!! This is Manny's first national title!!!!

Very impressive Alejandro and Manny! Congratulations!
