Last week, our Medical Outreach team visited the Chimutu area for a medical follow-up visit to check on community members who have received medical care, hear their experiences, and understand the impact of the support they received.

Through these visits, we continue to monitor progress, identify ongoing needs, and ensure that community members receive the care and support they need.

We will also be sharing some of their stories to raise awareness about the importance of healthcare and the difference it makes in people’s lives.

At Y-Malawi, we believe that every life matters, and every story of healing is worth sharing.

Together, we are bringing hope and making a difference!

One Teacher Can Change a Future 📚❤️

Famida, the Y-Malawi's Home Safe House manager and tutor, became an educator after being inspired by a teacher who changed her life.

“I chose to study Education because I believe it is the foundation of every profession. A teacher once changed my life, and I wanted to become that person for someone else. I love helping learners understand what they once thought was impossible.”

Today, Famida tutors children at Home Safe and supports other learners in her community. Her impact goes beyond teaching subjects - she helps young people build confidence, discipline, curiosity, and hope.

“I try to be a positive role model inside and outside the classroom because I know one good teacher can change a whole family’s future.”

This Teachers’ Day month, we celebrate teachers like Famida who remind us that education doesn’t just change individuals - it can transform families and generations.

From Being Taught to Teaching Others 📚❤️

After graduating in June 2026, Falida is now teaching at Saints Christian Secondary School in Lilongwe.

“I chose to become a teacher because I want to shape the young generation into responsible citizens. Some of my students now call me their role model, and that reminds me that teaching is more than a job - it is an opportunity to change lives.”

Education has changed Falida’s life. It has given her independence, opened opportunities, and enabled her to support even her younger siblings.

“I am who I am today because of education.”

This Teachers’ Day month, we celebrate every teacher who goes beyond the classroom to inspire, guide, shape, and transform lives.

Because when you educate one person, you can impact generations.

Through our medical outreach, we continue serving and meeting the healthcare needs of people who are less privileged in their homes.

We are especially grateful for the recent opportunity to support those who have a desire to read the Bible. Through our outreach, individuals are tested and provided with appropriate reading glasses to help them read and engage with God’s Word more comfortably.

Every pair of glasses is more than just a gift - it’s an opportunity to restore vision, dignity, and the joy of reading. 👓📖

We remain dedicated to serving our communities with love, compassion, and care. 🙏❤️

⚽🙏🏾 SPORTS EVANGELISM IN CHIMUTU!

Yesterday, young people gathered in Chimutu not only to play and watch sports, but also to hear the Word of God. Elders and community members joined us, and we had the opportunity to share the Gospel, counsel individuals facing challenges, and pray with them.

One player shared:

“We thank Y-Malawi for this program because it gives us an opportunity to meet as youth and learn more. Our lives are changing. We also thank Y-Malawi for donating jerseys and balls.”

This is more than sports - it’s about building relationships, sharing Christ, and transforming lives. ❤️

Providing Hope, One Pair of Glasses at a Time ❤️👓

On Tuesday the 14th, we had the incredible privilege of bringing hope to 38 people in Nkhanga by providing them with much-needed reading glasses. Among them were 13 men and 25 women who had recently received Bibles but were unable to read God's Word because of poor vision.

The joy on their faces was unforgettable. As soon as they put on their new glasses, blurred pages became clear, and they could finally read the Scriptures for themselves. A simple pair of glasses restored not only their sight but also their confidence, independence, and ability to grow in their faith.

One grateful beneficiary shared:

"I had received my Bible, but I could only hold it and wish I could read it. Today, because of these glasses, I can finally read God's Word with my own eyes. Thank you for giving me hope and changing my life."
