Transparency is crucial in local government. Recently, the Oregon Government Ethics Commission reached a final settlement closing the conflict-of-interest complaint filed against me.
The Facts: I have maintained throughout this process that seeking legal counsel regarding county term limits was done strictly for clarity, not for personal financial benefit.
The Resolution: I agreed to a standard letter of education from the OGEC to bring this matter to a swift close, avoiding a lengthy investigation.
Check out the video below where I break down the commission's decision. (A quick note: At the 00:49 mark in the video, I accidentally said "public gain" when I meant to say "personal gain." Just wanted to clear that up!) I am grateful that this is officially behind us, and I’m ready to continue serving the community I love. Let's keep working together to make Union County thrive!
