Transparency is crucial in local government. Recently, the Oregon Government Ethics Commission reached a final settlement closing the conflict-of-interest complaint filed against me.

The Facts: I have maintained throughout this process that seeking legal counsel regarding county term limits was done strictly for clarity, not for personal financial benefit.

The Resolution: I agreed to a standard letter of education from the OGEC to bring this matter to a swift close, avoiding a lengthy investigation.

Just wanted to clear that up!) I am grateful that this is officially behind us, and I’m ready to continue serving the community I love. Let's keep working together to make Union County thrive!

It took a lot of hard work, but we finally did it. For the first time in over a decade, functional flush toilets are officially back at the Union County Fairgrounds!

When I stepped into office, upgrading our fairgrounds infrastructure became a top priority. I am proud to have led the charge to secure the necessary funding and bring this vital water and waste project to fruition for our community!!

Huge thanks to the crew and volunteers who helped make these incredible facility upgrades a reality just in time for the Fair!!!

What an incredible week at the 2026 Union County Fair! 🎡✨

Every year, this event proves why Union County is such a special place to live, but it doesn't happen by accident. I want to extend a massive THANK YOU to the countless volunteers, organizers, staff, and sponsors who poured their hearts and endless hours into making this year a resounding success. You continue to make the fair a signature, memory-making experience for our families year after year.

A special shoutout to everyone involved in completing our major water and wastewater infrastructure project—the upgraded bathrooms and facilities look absolutely incredible, and your hard work behind the scenes made a huge difference for our fairgoers this week! 👏

Lastly, as we wrap up, please keep safety in mind with the current smoke and air conditions. Our thoughts are with all the crews, first responders, and neighbors affected by the conditions across our region. Take care of yourselves, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.

🎉 Fore! What an absolutely incredible weekend at the 25th annual Benchwarmers Golf Tournament! 🏌️‍♂️⛳

Reaching our silver anniversary is a massive milestone, and we are so grateful for the generations of golfers, families, and friends who have supported and continue to support this event. Year after year, you bring the fun, the laughter, the community spirit, and that unmatched camaraderie that makes this tournament so special.

It is a true privilege to host this event, especially knowing the incredible impact it has on our local community. Over the last 25 years, the proceeds from this tournament have directly championed so many vital groups, including theBlue Mountain Humane Assoc.e, Oregon Women in Timberwomen in Timberr , our local youth sports programs, and more. Your swing on the green directly helps our neighbors off the course!

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out to play, cheer, and support this year. You made the 25th anniversary unforgettable.

What a phenomenal weekend at the 79th annual Elgin Stampede! 🤠🐎

There is nothing quite like the energy at the base of the Blues when the Stampede busts out of the chutes. From the Xtreme Bronc Riding to the Grand Parade and the PRCA performances, it was an absolutely incredible showcase of our rural heritage and community spirit.

Events like this are such an awesome asset for Union County. They don't just provide world-class entertainment; they bring visitors to our local businesses, unite neighbors, and keep our proud traditions alive and thriving.

A massive thank you to the Elgin Stampeders, the army of volunteers, the sponsors, and everyone who worked around the clock to pull off another successful year. You make Union County proud!

Thank you to Senator Ron Wyden for visiting La Grande this week and keeping his promise to connect directly with our community!

We had a fantastic turnout at the Armory Conference Center. It was a true honor to serve as the moderator for the event, ensuring our local voices had a platform to be heard.

No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, this kind of direct civic engagement is incredibly important. Seeing neighbors come together to ask tough questions, share diverse perspectives, and discuss the future of Union County is exactly what makes our community strong.

If you’ve driven by lately, you’ve probably seen the incredible progress being made. Construction is moving along beautifully, and the site is looking absolutely fantastic!

Projects of this scale don't just happen overnight—they take an immense amount of vision, dedication, and heavy lifting. I want to extend a massive thank you to our phenomenal construction crews, project managers, and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this vision to fruition. Your hard work is paving the way for a space our community will enjoy for generations to come.

We are building something truly special for Union County, and I can't wait to see this space filled with families, laughter, and traditions.
