❤️🦜 POPPY’S STORY: FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING 🦜❤️
Previously known as Popeye
Many of you have followed Poppy’s journey with us, but for those who haven’t, her story is one of heartbreak, survival, and second chances.
Poppy was deeply loved by her previous owner, but he lived a very secluded life. Her diet consisted mostly of Cheez-Its, peanut butter, and ravioli. He genuinely believed he was doing what was best for her.
Sadly, when he passed away, Poppy was left alone with his body for what we believe may have been weeks. 💔
By God’s grace, one of our rescue followers, who was also his neighbor, sensed something was wrong and requested a wellness check.
When Poppy arrived at our rescue, she was severely underweight and needed around-the-clock hand-feeding.
There were tears, sleepless nights, countless attempts to find what worked, and moments when we wondered if she would make it.
But we never gave up on Poppy, and Poppy never gave up on life. ❤️
Today, she is absolutely THRIVING! She enjoys a wonderful variety of nutritious parrot foods, fresh fruits, and vegetables. And after spending her entire life indoors, she now gets to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and her very own aviary!
But I have one more dream for this incredible little survivor. ❤️
Although her current aviary is spacious enough for her, I would love to give Poppy something even bigger, with more room for swings, toys, climbing, and enrichment.
The aviary pictured is our dream for Poppy. It costs $449.99.
If you’ve followed her journey, prayed for her, or simply believe that every animal deserves a second chance, please consider helping us make this happen.
No donation is too small. Every dollar brings us closer to giving Poppy the life she deserves.
She has already survived so much. Now I want her to experience everything life has to offer. ❤️
Thank you for loving our rescues, believing in what we do, and helping us give animals like Poppy a second chance.
God bless you all! 🙏❤️
