At just 21 years old, Jenniflor is proof that investing in one life creates ripples far beyond it.

She joined our team as the Youth Empowerment Facilitator in Padre Granero, pouring compassion and hope into the young people she serves every day. But her own journey almost looked different. Jenniflor recently graduated from a wedding decoration training program, a dream she once feared was out of reach. Without the modest salary and support from our Youth Empowerment Program, finishing that training wouldn't have been possible.

Now she's not just equipped with new skills, she's using them to mentor and encourage the next generation in her community!

Nearly 10 years ago, God placed a calling on Laura's heart, and she said yes.

That first mission trip to Haiti with Second Chance Global broke her open in the best way. It broke her heart for what breaks His.

The next year, she brought her son Ethan along and what started as a single act of obedience became a decade of faithfulness! Watching God grow this ministry, expand its reach, and transform lives in ways only He could.

Laura is still here. Still serving. Still leading teams to the Dominican Republic and walking alongside volunteers stateside.

That's what saying yes to God looks like over the long haul. 🙏

Meet the Azuars!

They bid and won the "Kentucky Bourbon Trail" trip at the 1st annual Second Chance Gala in Knoxville last year, and finally took the trip this past June. Here's their story, in their own words:

"We bid and won the "Kentucky Bourbon Trail" trip at the 1st annual Second Chance Gala in Knoxville last year and took our trip this past June. We had an amazing time and really enjoyed Lexington, seeing all the horses on the way to the distilleries, and the property we stayed at. The area is beautiful and the distillery tours were all so interesting, we learned a lot about the history of the area and how connected the various distilleries are. We also learned about what makes bourbon unique and how all the elements combine to create different characteristics. We toured Castle and Key, James E. Pepper, Woodford Reserve, and Buffalo Trace. I would have liked to have done more but wanted to keep a leisurely pace (and not drink too much lol). All of the tours were great, our favorite was Woodford Reserve. The property we stayed at was charming, had super hip decor, nicely appointed, and great location. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Tony's Steakhouse, highly recommend! The best part about our trip was that I got to spend time with my sister who we invited to join us, and knowing that all this fun was helping to support Second Chance Global's mission. Praise God! 🙏"

Can't wait to see what's up for grabs this year. 👀

August has been full.

Prayers prayed. Stories shared. Communities celebrated. People spotlighted. And a whole lot of proof that this mission is worth every single moment!

2015. The orphanage where it all began.

This is Ashley and Jeffery surrounded by the 70+ children who called this place home. What looks like a simple photo holds something much deeper. This is the place where God spoke to them. Independently. In unity. A whisper that would change the course of their lives.

A call to commit to Him, to each other, and to His people.

From these walls and among these faces, a conviction was born. One that would lead them into a lifetime of international missions and a love for communities around the world.

Some moments don't just mark your story. They become the foundation of it. 🕊️

Our hearts are incredibly heavy. On Sunday evening, a horrific and devastating gang attack took place in Kenscoff, Haiti—a place we once called home and where many people we continue to love, serve, and consider family still live.

Gangs raided homes, murdered innocent people, and took women and children hostage. Men, women, and children who had sought refuge inside a church were among those killed. By morning, the bodies of men and young people lay scattered along the dirt roads. The death toll currently stands at 47 and is expected to rise.

Last evening, gang leaders released a video showing many of the hostages and threatened to kill them if police or other security forces attempted to intervene. We recognize some of the faces in that room. These are not empty threats; these men mean what they say.

Our hearts ache for those we know and love, and for those we have never met who are enduring unimaginable agony, suffering, grief, and terror. The reality of what they are experiencing is almost impossible for those of us who are safe to comprehend.

Please pray for our friends and family in Haiti. Pray for those being held hostage, for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and for those who are living in fear. Pray for protection, courage, mercy, and peace in the midst of this unimaginable violence.

The Medley's had a once in a lifetime experience in Iceland. Between volcanos, lava fields, black sand horseback rides, glacier kayaking, Viking experiences, lagoons, hot springs, and the incredibly unique food - "every mile told a different story."

Dressed up, showed up, and danced the night away. 🎉

In June, our kids got to experience something truly special - PROM! An evening full of music, dancing, live performances, and great food, but more than anything, it was a night of connection. New friendships formed, old ones deepened, and every single person there felt seen and celebrated.

We are so grateful for every person who makes experiences like this possible. 🙏

Emmanuel's story is one you need to hear. 🌟

A few months ago, Emmanuel transitioned from our House of Hope back to live with extended family.

Through our Youth Empowerment Program, Emmanuel learned to play several instruments. And now? Those gifts are opening doors! He's stepped into multiple opportunities serving within his church, using the very skills he built with us.
